DWEN Announces the 2nd Round of Dream Tech Contest Winners

After a successful DWEN Dream Tech Contest in the spring of 2021, DWEN hosted the second iteration of the contest in the fall of 2021. In partnership with Microsoft, the grand prize winner received up to $40K worth of Dell technology, second prize winner received up to $15K, and third prize winner received up to $5K.  Overall, DWEN provided approximately $200K worth Dell technology and solutions to the winners and semi-finalists this year and helped members scale their businesses with technology.

As with the first round of applications, hundreds of female founders and co-founders submitted entries and shared their amazing business stories.  It was not an easy decision, but DWEN narrowed down the applications to 15 semifinalists who then submitted their 3 min videos sharing what winning the Dell technology would do for their business.  After that, the final 8 and went to a public vote on the @DellSmallBiz Instagram stories for the final three winners.

Meet the Winners

Congratulations to Chrishon Lampley, Founder of Love Cork Screw, who won the grand prize of up to $40K, Kate Flynn, Founder of Sun & Swell Foods, who won up to $15K, and Felicia Jackson, Founder of CPR Wrap, who won up to $5K worth Dell tech!

Meet the Grand Prize Winner

Chrishon Lampley, is a winemaker that has been in the industry for over 25 years and has owned Love Cork Screw for 9.  She is the first African American woman to ever make it to large stores in the mid-west.  She is passionate about the wine industry noting that, “There are so many conversations with wine, and breaking bread with others.” Her business is focused on supporting local, listening to customers, and resonating with a feeling – her motto being, “Enjoy it, drink it, don’t over-think it.”

Chrishon applied because it’s an amazing time of change in the world and her company has seen massive growth in the past two years during the pandemic. Love Cork Screw took on many new accounts and increased distribution from 2 states to 12. With the fast growth of her business, she knew she lacked the technology to keep up.

Love Cork Screw relies on technology for communication with employees, distributors, global partners, creative partners, POS, accounting, reporting, and just about everything – but the wine. Chrishon believes Dell technology can make her company run smoother and more effectively and looks forward to implementing a new ERP system that will bring all the moving parts of her company together.  Chrishon is excited to collaborate more effectively with her team and partners in a secure way and take on more work in 2022.  Follow her success here
