Leadership pour élever

Celebrating at work is fundamental. It is highly valued for growth.
Elevating our teams is cause for celebration.
Great leadership recognize the small steps and successes along the way.

Thoughts to protect, inspire and motivate our teams are important as we build our teams, grow our business and add joy to the workplace. It is documented that folks are looking for more joy in their daily lives, this includes the work place.  Here are some small steps to meet the needs of our teams.

Cause for celebration: Notice the little things. The smallest celebration will ignite a spark of excitement. This becomes contagious. An excited, engaged team will be more eager to keep that momentum going.

People matter: Measurement of data is crucial for business success. Tracking and reporting are key to objectives. We set goals, plan and watch the progress. What’s the story around that data? Stories about how we jumped a hurdle, worked late to meet a deadline, encouraged each other to cross the finish line are so integral for continued engagement.

Belonging, empathy and inspiration: As leaders it is our job to build trust. We protect and inspire our teams; connecting to our teams, offering safety. This encourages creativity and risk taking. Ask questions about how they’re feeling. Understanding their struggles encourages an open dialogue. Emotional leadership style as defined by Daniel Goleman uses specific soft skills to gauge the mood of the team and then fostering a positive work environment. Using EQ enables the team members to feel valued, understood and included.

Leadership at its best leads by example with clarity, visibility, accountability and empathy.
Let’s remember to celebrate our accomplishments with grace and gratitude.
