Angelia McFarland of Dell Technologies is an accidental technologist. Her love of STEM led her down the path of becoming a physicist but life had other plans. Her career began at Xerox Corporation, where she repaired copiers during the day and attended college at night. After graduating with a degree in business, Angelia’s next move was to IBM where started her marketing path as an account manager for Cincinnati Bell Information Systems. As a channel marketing manager, her next role at IBM brought together all her passions, technology, marketing, storytelling, and strategy. Angelia has been recognized for her ability to translate technical concepts into valuable benefits for her audience. Her career has provided opportunities to market all areas of computer technology, from mobile phones to client computers to software to enterprise systems. She even took time off to hone her marketing craft in a completely different industry as a successful food truck business owner in suburban Austin, Texas. 

Today, she is back to her first love as the Director of Product Marketing, Programs and Operations at Dell Technologies. In this role, she has the responsibility to market networking and data management technology. Angelia is most proud of her role as a mother and has made sacrifices in an attempt to “have it all.” Through these experiences, she learned that you can “have it all” but not at the same time.
